Charity & nonprofit

Support that scales sustainably

We build and host charity sites at cost where we can—but ongoing changes need a fair plan so small teams like ours can keep helping long term.

How charity support works

1

Build

Free to ultra-low cost for eligible registered charities. We cover design and development; you cover third-party costs only where required.

2

Hosting

From ~£5/month at cost on our infrastructure. Keeps the site online, backed up, and monitored—not unlimited content changes.

3

Ongoing care

Charity Care or Care+ for scheduled updates, fixes, and small improvements—so ad-hoc “quick tweaks” don’t eat the project.

Charity website package

Free to ultra-low cost — registered charities and nonprofits only, subject to availability.

Typically included

  • Up to 5 custom pages
  • Custom branding and design
  • Mobile responsive layout
  • Contact forms
  • Donation links or buttons
  • Social media integration
  • Basic SEO setup

You pay (at cost)

  • Domain registration (if needed)
  • Hosting from ~£5/month
  • Third-party fees (e.g. payment plugins, premium stock)

Not included in the free build

  • Unlimited ongoing edits
  • Large e-commerce or custom app builds
  • 24/7 emergency support
  • Content writing for every page (we can advise; you supply copy)

Ongoing support: Charity Care plans

Hosting keeps your site live. Care plans cover our time for updates, fixes, and small improvements—batched fairly so charities get reliable help without surprise bills.

Essential

Charity Care

from £10/mo

~30 minutes of work per month, or up to 2 small tasks.

  • Text/image updates on existing pages
  • Small layout tweaks
  • Plugin or security patch assistance
  • Tasks batched on our charity update day

Unused time does not roll over.

Infrastructure only

Hosting only

from £5/mo

Site stays online—content changes are not included.

  • Hosting on Norbit infrastructure
  • Backups and basic monitoring
  • No included labour for edits

Pair with Care or Care+ when you need regular updates.

Fair-use rules (all Care clients)

  • Hosting ≠ unlimited edits. Technical hosting and labour are billed separately.
  • Batch day. Non-urgent work is grouped to keep costs low for everyone.
  • No rollover. Monthly allowance resets each billing period.
  • Overage. Extra work beyond your plan is ~£15/hour at our charity rate (quoted before we start).
  • Scope. New features, redesigns, or large builds are quoted as projects—not squeezed into Care minutes.
  • Urgency. Genuine outages (site down) are handled pragmatically; routine content waits for the batch.

Eligibility

We prioritise

  • Any registered charity with a valid charity number (or local equivalent)
  • English-language sites—other languages are possible if your team can help with translation and review
  • Recognised nonprofits, CICs, and community causes with clear public benefit
  • Organisations with a real need and limited digital budget

We usually can’t offer free builds for

  • For-profit businesses or trading arms without charitable status
  • Political campaigns or divisive causes
  • Projects requiring extensive custom software beyond a standard charity site

Every application is reviewed individually—we’ll be honest if a standard paid package is a better fit.

Common questions

We already pay £5 hosting—why do we need Care?
Hosting covers servers and uptime, not staff time. If you need regular text changes, new animals on a rescue page, or seasonal banners, Care turns that into a predictable, fair monthly block instead of endless “quick favours.”
Can we send requests anytime?
Yes—email or message us anytime. Non-urgent work is scheduled on our charity batch day so we can help many causes efficiently.
What counts as a “small task”?
Examples: update homepage text, swap photos, fix a broken link, adjust a button, add a news post using an existing template. Redesigns, new payment flows, or multi-page expansions are quoted separately.
Do you help with Discord or bots for charities?
Sometimes—ask us. Charity pricing on our main pricing page may apply; complex bots are quoted like any other project.
